What is a Public Adjuster
Public Adjusters are professionals who are employed exclusively by policyholder who has
sustained an insured loss. They assist policyholders in processing the claim, working
closely with the insured to provide the most equitable and prompt settlement possible. A
public adjuster often inspects the loss site, analyzes the damages, assembles claim
support data, reviews the insured's coverage, and determines current replacement costs. In
Florida, public adjusters must be licensed and bonded, but there are no training,
education or qualification requirements to obtain a public adjuster license.

Why does a property owner need a
public adjuster?
If insurance companies always paid a fair amount for a claim, there would be no need for
an adjuster. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not always treat their policyholders
fairly and pay the full amount for a claim in a timely manner.
Why does a property owner need an
Insurance Law Group Attorney/Adjuster?
At Insurance Law Group, our adjusters are also attorneys, with years of legal experience,
training and education. This ensures that you are having the highest trained and skilled
insurance expert working on your claim. Additionally, in Florida, public adjusters are
limited in the service they can provide. This often prevents public adjusters from
maximizing claim benefits and in many cases means that a separate law firm will be need to
litigate the claim, at additional expense.
As a client, all aspects of your case are handled directly by Paul Berger or Guy Gilbert,
both are attorneys and adjusters. We believe that we are the only firm in the country that
employs adjuster/attorneys and that this enables us to deliver the best results for our
clients. Additionally, the Insurance Law Group fees are equal to or below that of
traditional public adjusting firms (and far below traditional law firms). This means that
all of our clients receive the benefit of having an attorney at public adjuster rates.
